In coordination with Holocaust Remembrance Day, we are honored to share with you an interview with Moyra Turkington, one of the founders of Unruly Designs, on their groundbreaking tabletop game, Rosenstrasse.
In the interview with The CJN Daily podcast, Moyra discusses the inspiration for the game, which explores the role of non-Jewish Germans during the Holocaust. The game is named after the Rosenstrasse protest in Berlin in 1943, when non-Jewish spouses of Jewish Germans gathered in a demonstration that ultimately led to the release of their loved ones from deportation to concentration camps.
Moyra's game allows players to step into the shoes of non-Jewish Germans during the Holocaust and make decisions that could have life or death consequences for their Jewish neighbors. By immersing players in the complex ethical dilemmas faced by non-Jewish Germans during the Holocaust, Rosenstrasse offers a unique and engaging way to educate about this important period of history.
At the Rosenstrasse Foundation, we are proud to support the creation and dissemination of projects like Rosenstrasse that use the arts to educate and raise awareness about the Holocaust. We believe that by engaging with history in a creative and interactive way, we can help ensure that the lessons of the past are never forgotten.
We encourage you to listen to Moyra's interview on The CJN Daily podcast and learn more about Rosenstrasse and the important work being done by the Rosenstrasse Foundation. You can listen to the full interview here: https://rb.gy/qrdc1
